Gifts lead to happy endings for many DONATIONS ARE STILL WELCOME

By HOLLY HAYES / Mercury News

For 22 years, Mercury News readers have helped neighbors in their communities by donating to the Wish Book.

The 2004 fundraising campaign, which began Nov. 21 with the first of a series of 25 stories, may turn out to be one of the most successful yet. Donations continue to come in and we're still working on fulfilling several of the wishes, but watch for a follow-up soon that will report on the happy endings readers' donations have made possible.

Wish Book readers are invited to earmark their gifts to particular stories or causes, or make general contributions. Donations of any size continue to be welcome and are tax-deductible.
